Pathways Reflexology is run by Angela Sellens Drake M.A.R., P.R.M. who has over 27 years' experience in the field of Reflexology. Angela specialises in light-touch reflexology techniques, which many find to be both subtle and powerful. She offers treatments and training in Foot, Hand and Facial Reflexology.

Reflexology is an holistic therapy based on the principle that the entire body is represented in reflexes in parts of the body, such as the hands, face and feet. These reflexes are understood to be linked to specific areas of the body through a network of invisible energy pathways known as zones. Tension, illness, weakness and dis-ease are believed to manifest in the reflexes and may be experienced as tender or painful areas. Using precise thumb and finger techniques, the practitioner aims to activate the body's self-healing capacity, and to relax and rebalance the entire body.

Treatments

Treatments in Foot, Hand or Facial Reflexology, as well as Japanese Cosmo–Facial ‘Lifting’ Technique are available from Angela Sellens Drake. Angela also offers a number of specialised reflexology and facial reflexology treatments including Ocular Therapy, Deep Facial Muscle Massage and Tibetan Neck and Scalp Reflexology. Each treatment is unique and is tailored to suit the needs of the individual and are potentially suitable for any age and any condition.

Angela is a member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR), Professional Reflexology (PR) and of the Global Reflexology Network. She is also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

Training

Pathways Reflexology has been successfully training professional reflexologists since 1996 and offers three levels of training as outlined below. For more details of each course please see the booking page. CPD points available.

Level 3 Diploma Course in Reflexology (7 unit): Professional training courses accredited by ABC Awards (Awarding Body Consortium).

Successful graduates will be eligible for membership of a number of leading professional organisations. See the booking page for more details of this new national qualification.

There are two course options for courses beginning in 2012:

A Sunday course option, beginning Sunday 17 June based on one or two Sundays per month

and

A Wednesday morning course option beginning Wednesday 10 October based on one morning a week during academic terms

Introductory Workshops
Beginning Reflexology: self-help techniques
The Workshop is for those who are keen to find out more and learn some simple self-help techniques. It is also for those who want to join one of the next Diploma courses, beginning June & October 2012.

If you have not been able to attend an Introductory Self-help workshop and are interested in joining the Diploma course, please contact to discuss this.

Reflexology and Fertility
The workshop will explore the main processes involved in conception and discuss common fertility issues. Special treatment routines will be suggested, with the aim of promoting health and enhancing natural fertility.

Counselling Skills for Therapists
Our January 2011 workshop with Andrea Rippon was very popular. This year there will also be a Day 2 workshop, to help develop the skills learned on Day 1.

Counselling Skills for Therapists – Day 1: Saturday 21 January
This workshop helps the therapist develop effective listening and responding skills, based on empathy and respect. It also explores ways of supporting and empowering the client.This workshop was very well-received when we ran it last year. Hereís what some of the attendees said about it:

Counselling Skills for Therapists – Day 2 Next steps: Saturday 26 May
This workshop explores effective ways of working with challenging clients. Attendees need to have completed Day 1 or an equivalent Introduction to Counselling/ Listening Skills workshop

Language of the Feet
Three highly practical workshops to help you understand what the feet are showing you. Based on the work of Chris Stormer and Angela’s study, experience and observations from over 27 years in practice.

The first of three highly practical workshops to help you understand what the feet are showing you

Day 2: Sole-Searching – Sunday 15 April
This workshop involves more detailed observation of each area of the foot and explores how our feet chart the path of our life’s ‘journey’
Day 3: Finding Your Feet – Sunday 1 July
This workshop compares some of the many approaches to reading the feet, relating visual and tactile observations to different physical & emotional / spiritual interpretations.
